Hoping to put a 4 inch lift on my jk. this is exactly the type of problem I need to address BEFORE it happens. would you mind giving me an idea of how much more money i am looking at to do the arms and control bar.
Not to derail this thread, but this stuff is an endless ocean of confusion. It seems 4" lifts with 35" tires is VERY popular here
Why can't someone figure out what a person needs to lift a jeep 4", put 35" tires under it and have the ENTIRE VEHICLE perform right? you know.... steering, drive shafts, gears and whatever else. To someone like me (who has no experience and no desire to learn the hard way) a package like that would be invaluable..
I realize there is a ton of manufacturers to choose from, The first one (manufacturer or distributor) to figure this out and market it should get the market share. With the price of Jeeps these days, i would guess there will be a lot of newcomers to the lift scene. again, sorry to vent.

If you are startng from stock, I would look for a lift kit with the arms and track bar included. This is a fairly easy install, just pay close attention to the toe and caster settings.

In my case, I paid about $170 or so for the track bar, and $340 for the arms.

Puts me at about $1,100 or so for my entire lift. Now I am happy.

If you have the money, or if you dont wait till you do to get the right kit. Lost of opinions on here as to which and why. Depends on the type of offroading you do, and the money you want to spend.

Check your caster now. Factory settings should be +4.2 degrees. It's recommended to increase to +6 to +7 for 3" + lifts and 35" + tires. If yours is the correct factory +4.2 , try increasing your caster slightly, +4.5 to 5. This should provide a more stable ride.

But, if you want, check with Wayoflife for the final word.
