Default Offset question

Hi all, I know this has been beat to death, but I'm just looking for a quick response.
I'm getting ready to replace the factory 13' Sahara 18" wheels with some new 18x9 XD wheels. I have Toyo OC AT2 tires in the 285/75R18 variety. I'm running 1.5" spacers now, and have a 2.5" lift, but will be removing the spacers obviously when I get the new wheels. I will eventually go to 295's I have a feeling.
The local Discount Tire is recommending I go with the +18 offset, and the other option is the -12. Any suggestions or input on this? I like how right now the tire sticks out just past the wheel well, but not too far.
It seems like most people go with the -12...any input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I want to say mine were -12 offset. I can't remember for sure. I have the 1.5'' spacers as well and don't rub with my sized tires. I'm almost positive but don't quote me for truth on that, it's been awhile! I'd get others opinions for sure.

+18 is more than 5.5" backspace and -12 is more in line with what others usually run and standard that wont rub on the Jk - approx 4.5" backspace. Go with -12 offset.

Forgot to mention, I will not be running the spacers with the new wheels..does that matter? They stick out just a little bit now with the stock wheels and 1.5" spacers...not bad at all.

There is information in both of the threads stuck to the top of this modified area. One of them indicates that the stock rims have a 6.25" backspace. And your spacers are 1.5", correct?

6.25 - 1.50 = 4.75", right?

So if you like where your tires are sitting now, a 4.75" backspace is what you want on the new rims. If you decide that you want the tires tucked in a bit further, go for a 5.00 backspace. A little further out, go for a 4.50 backspace. If you think you will move to taller/wider tires in the future, a lower backspace will be much better than a higher backspace. Not a lot of rocket science here.

And if the rims only list offset, convert it to backspace!!!
