you guys that have that oil changing valve, yall havent had any trouble with stuff hitting it and it opening?
just curious, that would really help me out in regards of changing the oil at home.

Here's a shot of my Fumoto valve with the nipple option. Just attach a 3/8" hose to the nipple and open it up! No mess!

If you notice in the picture, there's a clamp around the valve. The valve is recessed into the skid a long ways, protected by the Rock Hard skid splash shield, has a built-in valve lock, and finally the external clamp. I don't worry about it at all!! I certainly wouldn't recommend the valve if you have no skid plate to protect it.

I'm not certain about the size. If I had to guess....I'd say 1/2" fine thread.....but I'm probably wrong.

That's with and without the nipple. Gotta have nipples, though.
