Default Oil consumption FIX

So I know a guy, who know a man, who is related to this guy who works for the local Dodge dealer who just so happens to also be a close friend of mine who give me some advise about the 3.8/3.6 "using oil" problem he says that the factory recommended oil for are jeeps is 5w-20, (TRUE) they say " its whats best for the motor" (FALSE)

Straight out of the dealers mouth he says " most people complain or have had some issue of some kind with having to add about 1/2qt to 1 quart every oil change and they believe its something wrong with the motor, its not its with the oil, the 5w-20 is so thin it seeps by the rings (blow-by) and is burnt off during combustion"

Run a thicker oil like 10w-30 and you will be fine no more adding oil

Hard to trust a friend of a friend of a friend. Even if your just protecting someone's identity.

I've been running the OE recommended 5w/20 for the last 95,000 miles without any issues. But I think that recently my luck may have changed.

Yeah. OK. There is no fix-all for the oil burners.
Some need thicker oil; some need new rings; some need a whole new engine; etc.

Agreed. The thicker oil will only work to some extend. I do agree these motors like thicker oil though
