Default Old Man Emu or 2.5" Teraflex

Old Man Emu HD Long Travel or 2.5" Teraflex w/ Shocks. Going to pull the trigger in 10 days. I have a 08 Unlimited auto. Already have 315/70/17 MT MTZ's (not on jeep yet) Im going with the Moto Metal Skull Wheels 17x9 4.5" backspacing. I will also be buying JKS quick discos and JKS adjustable front and rear trac bars. I will eventually be adding front and rear bumpers and a winch, as soon as I can afford it. I do some mild wheeling and it is my DD. Ive researched both lifts like crazy. Everyone running either of the two doesn't really seem to have any complaints. Which one should I go with and why? And if you got pics, post em.

OME HD LT kit that northridge put together. Wish it had been available when I got my non-LT version.

If the choice is between the reg OME kit and the TF 2.5, think I'd go TF.

You should also consider adding a set of front adj ca's to either kit...

I put this on my 2 door:

1) 2.5” tf coil lift w/ TF VSS 9550 shock absorbers

2) TeraFlex Monster Forged Front Adjustable Trackbar (chose this over JKS for front...)

3) JKS Rear Adjustable Trackbar

4) TeraFlex JK Rear Trackbar Bracket (big one...it's a monster)(i used this one instead of the little one that came with the kit)

5) JKS front lower control arms

6) 35's and new wheels

This is a sweet setup and drives like a dream... it's unbelievable. I had some rubbing of tire on front stock bumper at full turn until i put on my new front bumper about 2 weeks after this setup was installed....now it's perfect. So you will rub with the TF 2.5" spring lift with 35's on stock front bumper. You might want to look into the 3 or 4" kits TF makes or look at other options since you have 4 door and wont get as much lift as I did with my 2 door....in addition you mentioned you will be adding more weight. I'm not sure how much lift you will get from the OME lift.

I would call Dave at northridge to get right and tight.

I am going to watch with interest also. I am in the same dilemma.

I have the TF 2.5 sitting in my garage but have been researching the OME LT HD (and the +40 version). Cost is about the same if you add the track bars and set of control arms to the TF 2.5 kit.

I am struggling with how high do I really want to go. My understanding is the OME will provide a sleight height advantage, but nothing that a coil spacer can't resolve.

It is also hard to determine which one will provide the better ride and which one will sag less.

For me it is just a lack of experience with lifted vehicles and not knowing exactly how much lift I need to make my vehicle more capable off road.

Default HD LT Kit from NR4x4

I agree on the budget statement above.

I really like my kit. If only you were closer, I would let you test drive the JK.

With 35's you're going to have a monsterious rig...

Here is a link to my album with this kit:

and another

I optioned for Tera Flex Front Lower Controls Arms instead of the Front uppers that the kit comes with (From NR4x4) and it rides extremely smooth.

I flexed the biggest parking lot obstacles I could find and I am no where near my skid plate thus so far... I plan on adding spacers (Pucks) to my Cross Member Plate when I get 35's.

Do you have any plans on installing it yourself?
