Default OME 2 in HD Rubbing - Helllp!

Hey guys,

I haven't posted this question until now. But, it's affecting my ability to hit the trails now. I have a 2 " HD OME lift with 35's (BFG KM/2's). I get pretty hard rubbing in the front when I hit larger bumps (even on the road!). Needless to say, I can't hit the trails the way it is.

Does anyone else rub in the front? Also, it's not clear what rubs and where? Would putting it in a ramp help solve where the rub is?

Options:
put alternate springs in the front (uggh)
put some sort of bump stops in the front (can't seem to find any)
spend 750 bucks on the JKS hydraulic bump stops for the front (new in Quadratec, kinda cool looking, but expensive option!)

Other thoughts? The weather is getting good and I want to go hit the trails. What is the best option here?

And, BTW, the rub is pretty bad when I hit huge bumps (you can actually see a little smoke come out and it sounds baaaaad).

I see alot of posts with OME lifts, why am I the only one rubbing here??

BTW, I have no winch and the bumpers are still factory, so it's still not heavy up there!

Thanks
-BLNDSPT

If you haven't extended your bumpstops after lifting 2in, 35's will almost certainly rub. You should be able to find bumpstops on pretty much any of the major Jeep parts websites from multiple companies
ahh, what the hell, I'll make it easy for you (took about 45 sec to do this search)

I had some rubbing with my OME lift, but only when I was wheeling. I didn't have a problem otherwise.

Give Northridge4x4 a call.

Good point. Didn't think of that. I haven't had the plastic air dam on in a long time don't think much about it.

A PA 1" Body Lift took care of my rubbing problems.

You aren't, just haven't seen the right threads...

put alternate springs in the front (uggh)
put some sort of bump stops in the front
Between the two, I'd just slap in some bumpstops.

Would putting it in a ramp help solve where the rub is?
Definitely. I just found a big rock to flex on:

Rubbing on the top outer edge of fender:

Rubbing on the endcaps of the XHD:

Over-compressed spring:

And that is with a 295/75/16, will be a bit worse with 35's I'd imagine.

So, trimmed the bumper:

Slapped in some 2 inch lower bumpstops from a rubicon express kit up front:

And 2 inch teraflex lower bumpstops in the back:

Still have very minor rubbing in front at full stuff, but will get around to trimming the fendor instead of adding an upper bumpstop.
