1/2 doors are factory. Actually found the jeep sitting on a lot.

I have not seen any other 1/2 door jeeps locally.

Love them. However I am going to eventually find 4 fuul doors in a Junk Yard and paint them BLACK. Not in any hurry. Fuigure I will wait a couple years.

As I recall, a 2" lift will shift the axle about half an inch. Not a great description, but does this answer your question?
Thanks alot Woods! Yes that helps, but does raise a few more questions. Should I get an adjustable track bar? How does the shift in axles affect driving?
Thanks

I was told that the adjustable track bars were not needed with the OME kit. That said the tires moved enough for me to notice and I am a stickler for the posing part as well as functionality. That is why I am getting them.

As for driving affect. there has been none. Mine rides down the road straight as an arrow and no woundering at all.

I have read mixed reviews when doing a 2.5" lift or smaller. Some go with the adjustable some leave it alone. I am thinking anything over 3" should have adjustable track bars.

I think the ride is smoother than factory. I also think I got more than 2" lift. Trying to get base numbers to calculate.

Default Another happy OME user

We also installed the OME springs and shocks. Did not like the ill handling and harsh ride of the 2.5" BB we had on the Jeep. We did take measurements before and after, lots of them.

The OME springs are available in stock weight capacity and 250lb extra for the front. In the rear there are 3 choices, stock capacity, +300lbs and +600lbs. We intend to have a winch bumper and winch out front as well as a bumper and tire carrier out back so we went with the heavier capacity front and the +300lb in the rear. These springs on and otherwise stock 4dr gave 4.125" lift front and 3.625" rear. They take the factory rake out of the Jeep and it sits nice and level. (We did not use any trim spacers, although we need about a 1/2" on the right rear corner to get the Jeep to sit dead level.)

Hmmm, taller than 2" 35's no problem!

Next up I stack some junk on the front bumper and on the rear to approximate the weight of new bumpers and accesories. That brought the ride height down to 3" front and 2.5" rear. Still needs a 1/2" in the right rear.

The ride and drive is awesome, as with any other OME spring/Shock.

I'll get some pics up later, left the camera at work.

I agree with this completely.

At a 2" lift, I would agree that you do not need an adjustable track bar, and you should not see any effect on driving. However, if the lift is actually as described below (3" loaded as specified) then the becomes a bit more of a concern. But hey, if you have it working and everything seems find then that's what matters. My plan is to do some adjustable control arms up front with the OME lift, so I can adjust caster. I've not made a decision about the track bar, and will wait to see what others are saying.

where in SE PA are you?

5 minutes south of the Airport, right near Ridley. No problem getting together so You can see it. I am all over on most weekends. Head out your way alot, just most of the time its on a motorcycle.

Delaware Jeep association is doing a toy drive the second Saturday of December just outside wilmington. I plan on dropping off a couple toys at the least. Here is the info I have. Do not really know any of the members. Thought it would be good to stop by. We could meet there.

Saturday, December 8th
10am to 1pm
Pike Creek Shopping Center parking lot (located on Rt. 7, across from Goldey-Beacom College).

We will be available to take donations of new, unwrapped toys that will be delivered directly to Nemours/ A.I. duPont Hospital for Children later that afternoon. Some donations will also be delivered to Childrens Choice foster care later in the week. Please bring your donation with you to that day. They will be collected in the trailer to taken to be taken to the hospital. The Jeep caravan to the hospital will leave at approximately 1:30 to deliver the toys

Just got off the phone with ARB "OME" and was given these weights for your JK

Model Location Description Type Lift Quantity Part No.
All Front Gas - Stock/Light Load (0-90lbs) Spring 2" 2 OME616 Shock 2 N196
All Front Gas - Heavy Load (90-180lbs) Spring 2" 2 OME619 Shock 2 N196
All Rear Gas - No Load Spring 2.25" 2 OME617 Shock 2 N198
All Rear Gas - Heavy Constant Load (300lbs) Spring 2.25" 2 OME618 Shock 2 N198
Rear Gas - Heavy Constant Load (660lbs) Spring 2.25" 2 OME620 Shock 2 N198

There really is only Light duty and Heavy duty.

Also the do make a VHD" Very heavy duty" rear coil which is 600 pounds more!!! Nobody will need this unless you are constantly towing a trailer or something like that.

Hope this helps

David
