IIRC, it wasn't much more than the stock shocks, pretty short.

Mostly because the kit doesn't include anything to allow more droop, primarily just to increase ride height 2"....the legal limit in Australia.

OK, I found it...24" fully extended....the lift is 2", the shocks are 2" longer, just enough to make up for the extra height.

The stock shocks are about 22" fully extended.

For comparison....the TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost shocks are about 27 - 28" fully extended (Different front rear lengths for TF, same F/R for OME...)

So the shocks for the TF 2.5" lift extend to at least ~ 27" vs ~ 24" for the OME shocks vs ~ 22" for the stock shocks.

So, the OME shocks are short, not much droop...but they ride nice.

Hope that helps.

... but the OME are compressed a little shorter than stock, so you do not need bumpstops and have real 2" more travel ...

Say I wanted to get the OME HD springs, and shocks with a little bit more travel than the OME ones (I don't like the yellow OME shocks anyway)... Could I take the Bilstein shocks from a Black Diamond 3" lift and use them with the OME springs? Would that negatively affect the on-road ride? Would it even help off-road?

Sorry for my ignorant newbie-ness.

I'd get over the color issue. From what I've heard the peformance of the OME shock is going to be VERY tough to beat.

The color isn't that big of a deal. But if I'm going to drop $700-$800 on a lift kit, the performance benefits better be proportional to the cost (college students aren't made of money ). I'm not just looking for something that raises the ride height--I want something that actually improves the Jeep's articulation and wheel travel.

I took maesurements myself, before putting t them in the car. I think, compressed they were about 1/2 " shorter than stock. Fully extended I do not know anymore, but what TEEJ says seems to be right.
