One more possible solution for ESP issues
I know there is a lot of ESP threads but I've yet to see one talk about this possible solution.
A little history:
I've had my JK since early 2007.
My first lift was a TF BB with 33's.
It did have a slight rake to it.
Driving wasn't bad but any curvy roads or off/on ramps would set the ESP off like crazy.
So I decided to add a 3/4" spacer to remove the rake.
Once leveled, I noticed that the ESP almost completely disapeared except on extreme curves with speed.
Aprox a year later I added a 3 1/4" lift and re-used my 3/4" front spacers. The JK again was pretty level and I had very little issues with the ESP.
Months later I added a stubby front bumper. With the added weight from the new bumper and winch, the rake was pretty noticeable again.
With the bumper added (and rake returned), the original ESP issues came back.
Any curvy roads and at slow speeds, on/off ramps set the ESP off like a kid throwing a temper tantrum.
This really got me wondering if there was a correlation between the rake and the ESP.
Well last week I measured the rake and decided it would take another 3/4" to level it out.
So I decided to remove the 3/4" spacers and replaced them with an 1 3/4" spacers. This completely removed the rake.
Impressions:
The rake is completely gone and I can again take on/off ramps with speed. The ESP doesn't even blink an eye. (until I jerk it really hard, just to see if I can get it to react)
If you're having issues with the ESP, I'm not saying that leveling your JK will solve it completely. I am saying that it seems to have solved it for me.
If anyone else has noticed this or has had the same experience, please respond.
(and yes my steering wheel was recentered each time I added components)
Sorry this is long but hopefully it might be able to assist a few people with their ESP issues.

That makes some sense since roll plays a factor in setting off the ESP. With the Jeep level it might not detect roll as quickly!
Mine has rake and no more ESP issues. But it did. I believe the computer learns after a while!

It almost seems that certain JK's are more sensitive than others.
I've also heard they learn. If that's the case, mine unfortunately never did after the bumper install.
But then again, maybe it learns or adjusts up to a certain %
Maybe my rake was more than it could adjust for
Hmmmm, good food for thought.

My 1st lift was a budget boost (still had the front end low rake)did have esp going off,my spring lift has my jeep sitting level and esp hardly ever goes off,not sure if this is because of "rake"or as stated earlier esp is a "learned"program that adapts to your driving style.I hardly notice my esp anymore, just remember to push esp button(I call it the fun button)before hitting gravel roads where you want to be able to 'power drift"
