Default Optima Yellow top or Blue?

So I'm trying to decide on a optima gel cell battery for my JK. So I go to the site and they want me to put in my model. Except there is no drop-down for 2013 and the 2012 drop-down does not have the wrangler listed.

I have to say optima needs to update their website. I'm sure the 2011 battery specs will work. Anyone think otherwise?

What do you guys think is a better battery? The yellow or Blue top?

Neither. Go to Sears and get their Diehard Platinum.

Are they gel cell?

I also hear AGM batteries are the best for running down and charging as well.

Get the yellow top. The blue top is a marine battery.

Without looking at the specs of the two I don't know off the top of my head if one is much better than the other. We run the blue tops in the Coast Guard but like said above thats a marine grade battery, may just be paying more for the "marine grade". Best is to look at the spec differences.

I'm going with optima. We use them in our tugs on the flight line. We also use them on aircraft APU units. If there good enough to jump a Jet my money is on optima. We use the yellow. But I read somewhere that marine battery's have a deeper cycle better for lighting systems and winches

Only two options worthwhile. Optima Yellow top or Sears Diehard Platinum. Both are very good.

Any opinions on Odyssey batteries? Ran them in all of my ATV's and always had great luck.

They are great batteries as well. Sears diehard batteries are rebranded Oddyseys, if that tells you anything.

Marine batteries are designed to be run down to no charge and then charged to capacity. Not a good idea for a vehicle starting battery. Plenty of info on the WWW. Google is your friend.
