A less restrictive exhaust, yes...to a small degree can increase power by MAYBE 5-8 "legit" hp, however, most people aren't going that far. They're simply putting on a less restrictive air-filter on their stock exhaust and non-modified injection system.

Even with all that, the power gain was so minimal I felt it was in fact "in my head". I know it was there...but for what it cost...the gain wasn't worth it, especially with all the added debree that filter allowed to enter unimpeded.

And let's not forget, this is just my opinion. Others may feel better about doing the K&N thing...I'm simply giving my expereince with it in an unbiased manner and after using one for quite a few years...I don't believe they work.

No, I agree with you on the K&N Filter...

it just sounded like you were discounting the whole "less restrictive" thing in general. Maybe i read it wrong.

I think if you got a proper intake and exhaust there would be a difference, 5-8hp is about right... maybe it isn't super noticeable, but it will come in handy at some point.

Hey, isn't the sound worth it anyway? hahah. Sometimes making you FEEL like you are pushing harder or going faster isnt a bad thing... more immersion.
