Over charged?
Alright so earlier today I went to the jeep dealership to get a estimate on what they would charge me to install a...
2.5inch teraflex coil lift
RK front adjustable track bar
Teraflex exhaust spacers
They replied by saying "around $985"!
Ps. I am getting it installed by a "certified jeep dealership" because I don't wan to void my warranty.
Pss. Price estimate for Only labor-already own all the parts
I feel they are taking advantage of the warranty restrictions..
So my question. Is this about what the price of installment for this parts? Or are they (as I presume) taking advantage of the warranty restriction.

The local price of just the lift install here is $300 at an offroad shop- they quote 4 hours to do it. You figure on another $70 for an alignment after they do your track bar and maybe $75 to do the exhaust spacers.
Am I saying they're fair prices, no, but it's a round number of what you should be looking at.

Two things here.
1. If the dealership is telling you that they will never refuse warranty work because they did the lift, get it in writing. From a Chrysler point if view, they could care less who installs, they are not warranting any after market part or any stock part that failed due to aftermarket parts.
2. That's not that bad for a dealership. They are expensive because they don't need your install money to survive. It's just icing on top of their very large cake.

I think that is way to much to pay for that install. I installed my 2" Rubcion express kit in about 5-6 in my driveway taking my time, and have installed a rustys 3.25 kit before took slightly longer. If you don't have the time, or resources to do it yourself I would think no more than about 400+about 80 for alinement. Thats the max I would think is fair imo.

Do it yourself man with the help of some friends and local jeepers. Waste of money. The whole "saving the warranty" tactic is complete bullshit. Doesn't matter if you install it, the dodge dealer installs it, or you install it. They can't legally void your warranty because of it. If you tear a driveshaft boot as a result of the lift, don't expect them to cover it regardless who installed it
Even if you had zero tools, you could go buy everything you needed for that install for far less then the labor will cost

I can't see them warranting anything the fails due to the lift/bigger tires. If you go in with a problem with your drive shaft, busted ring/pinion or bent c's, I don't see them replacing anything because you had a lift installed by the dealership. Your best bet is to find a reputable 4x4 shop and get the work done there OR grab a case a beer a few pizza pies and get a few forum/jeep club members to do it with.
Problem begins due to...
1) no resources
2) the warranty
3) no prior experience
