Default overheating

does anyone else have problems with over heating while out wheeling!?! I have coolant just below the max line and stuff but I am over heating? so I have to turn the hot air full blast. after a while of that where the odometer is a warning pops up That says HOTOIL. so I switch between hot air and no hot air. please help any and all comments will help! thanks!

the hot oil light and dinger is for the transmission temp on rigs with automatic transmissions. might need to add a trans cooler. thread here --> https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...mission+cooler

i would replace the thermostat and water pump. It is a cheap repair and one you can do at home. I always suggest doing both rather then just one or the other.

Before you go buying a bunch of stuff, have you washed out the fins on your radiator? Take out the fan and spray from the inside out. If you have dust and mud caked in there it will over heat every time. That was my fix.

ya someone said to do it and I did it with just a couple of water bottles and squeezed a bunch if pressure at it. it helped a ton. when we were done wheeling I sprayed it off with a high pressure rinse.

the engine coolant temp guage is on the far right.....engine coolant isn't "oil" and the HOT OIL light and dinger is for the tranny temp on the automatic transmissions. is your temp guage reading "H" ?

If you have a Super Chips programmer, you can adjust your fan to turn on sooner at a lower temp. For auto trans getting hot, run a aux oil cooler as mentioned.

is your temperature gauge working correctly? I had a similar problem and replaced the temp sending unit and it cured it. It was not allowing my fans to come on and was overheating at slow speeds. It was ok at driving speed. Plenty of air flow there.
