We use the extra fan in vegas for a few things. It runs cooler and it helps the A/C

Hopefully I wont have to do this! But I was thinking about it.

It get's hot here in Cali. Especially where I'm gonna go this summer. What kind did you get? Is it the same one as the OEM just flipped around? Or.....?

Autos are known to overheat anyway. Many including myself have installed aftermarket trans coolers in front of the radiator. Some higher end models have fans built into them but I don't think they are necessary unless you live in the desert.

Ok first off I got to say pull the radiator clean it. You will be glad you did.
Second we use a ford tarus fan any junk yard look for a fan in good shape. Some guys wire it up to the A/C so when you have it on its running. Some others have wired a switch to turn it on manually. A few have even added on thermo switches

If you just came from the mud and it never did it before its the lower part of the radiator. Pull it and clean it. The dealership here offerd to install one after this happen to me. I cleaned out the mud went back to normal. I did install a after market cooler. Just because. And the extra fan we installed pushed across both factory and tranny cooler

Do you guys have pics of your set ups? Or is there a thread about it? I did a search of radiator fans but nothing interesting came up.

Can you hear the fan coming on?
Have you ever had the JK in deep water? That may plug the radiator fins.
Find out if it's actually overheating, then troubleshoot from there.
i have that thermometer...what should the reading be if everything is normalÉ

When the engine is fully warmed up, the temp will be 190°F minimum.
With the engine running and the JK not moving, the temp will climb to 215°F. That's when the fan will come on, lowering the temp to somewhere around 195°F, where it will shut off until it reaches 215°F again.

Ok well I sprayed it again and it looks to be running clear from all the nooks n crannies I could get into. Took it for a drive up the highway and around town. The temp gauge is very very slightly over where in normally is. Like a half a bar higher. Not bad at all.

I'm just hoping that's all it was. We'll see in the next few days if it's good to go for good. Thanks for the help from those who gave me hints.
