Default Painted tow hooks

Looking for some suggestions on some tow hooks. I will be painting them green to match the MW3 badge on my all black JKU. Lets see some!

I painted my d rings

Sanded with 220 grit sand paper, washed with soap and water and let them dry for an hour or more. Then 2 light coatings with self etching primer. Then 2-3 light coats of automotive enamel (any good paint would work, the auto enamel just matches my white well and is made for high heat). Let them dry over night then install them.

I made a little rack and used wire to hang the pieces in the air to paint...made it easy to spin them around and coat evenly...just a tip.

I also painted my rock guards on my wheels te same way.

If your D-rings or tow hooks are already powder coated black, just get your green paint and rattle can them.

Personally I would sand blast them and have them powder coated to match your emblem. It should not cost much to do them <$40 or so. Paint will not hold up to trail use as well as powder coating.

I painted mine red and the inner metal bracket on the bumper when i chopped it. Also went red on my evo skids. My jeep is all black minus these items. The paint has held up great. Do multiple coats and PREP it very well. Paint holds up fine on the trail, if you do it right. And its easy to fix, spray spray...

I like that idea. Not trying to have to continuously paint them every couple weeks. What would I need to do the green powder coat at home?

They sell powder coating kits you can use at home. Basicly just need the sprayer / electrode and an oven.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

Anyone know what shade/color green the MW3 logo is?

yeah I just rattle can them. If you'll be actually using/needing them, good chance they're gonna get scuffed any how. I used dark silver metallic on mine to match my wheels. EDIT: I used wheel specific paint from auto parts store.

I haven't painted mine yet but I'm going to use a DTM epoxy primer to coat my PSC bumper and d-rings then a few coats of Single stage urethane for the rings
