OR throwing an exhaust, CAI, performance tuner and some other misc. items.
Do some more browsing and see just what kind of performance 'gains' people are getting. That may point you at gears a little more.

performance stuff because it will sound better and would look good
Decide if you want a Jeep, or a Car, and go from there...

Well, then get the gears. Make sure you get a speedo re-calibrator so the PCM isn't hunting for gears.

$600 for yukon gears, $1000 for labor, and it seems to be going up lately. The same shop was doing gears and labor 8mos ago for $1300. Oh , I got a locker installed with the gears, no extra labor.

I got my gears done or 1200 total. The superior gears with install kits were 599 with install kits from northridge and the local shop installed them for 550. Gear oil and pinion bearings from oreilys was about $50. so it was right at 1200. If you like yukon gears they cost 100 less than I payed. If you wheel your jeep, you have to change your driveshaft pretty fast. If you don't wheel you can maybe be ok for a while.
