Performance mods or re-gear??
35's and auto's like 5.13's; stay away from 4.88's. If you think you may go to 37's get 5.38's. Either will work great. With 35's at 75 you'll be at 2600 rpm with the 5.13's and 2700 with the 5.38's.
As for the OP's question - REGEAR. Non of the other crap (excuse me - wealth transfer devices) can remotely hold a candle to regearing in the results department. A 6 speed can get by without regearing but not an automatic.

If you are going to offroad it a lot then I would go with the driveshafts first. You can get by without gears for a while, but if you break a driveshaft or tear the boot, you jeep is going to be grounded for a while. I am going to go that route because I would rather be able to drive it and have to have it in O/D off the entire time then have 1500 dollars of gears and install while it sits lifeless in my driveway with broke driveshafts.
Since the original poster said he found his answer... i'm going to invite myself in to hijack this thread! :-D
I'm running 35's on the stock gear ratio (which is what by the way?) on the 6-speed standard.
Now, i haven't been off road much on the tires (2 weeks old tomorrow), and not on anything big or mean but I'm not horribly disappointed with it or anything.
My main problem is that this vehicle is my daily driver, and over the weekend i did take a cross state drive. And to be frank, my 6th gear has become worthless. Can't accelerate at all and it falls like a house of cards to the most modest of hills, this makes cruise control (also after market) far less enjoyable.
So, what gear ratio would you recommend? bearing in mind i log about 30-40 miles on her a day, so i don't wanna go too high and spend all my paychecks on gas.
Also, i've been looking at some lockers, get that done while i'm down there? And how big a hassle is city driving post rear-lockers? Would something like this bad boy be a good, albeit expensive, alternative?
