Either way, that's part of the fun... there is always craigslist for mods you don't like.
I'm totally the opposite.

I found all the difference in my Throttle Body.

Eitherway, save your monies and regear off the bat.

I would definitely look into changing ALL fluids into synthetics, you may gain a couple horsepower there too.
Haven't done a dyno, but I have an AFE cold air intake, dynomax muffler, superchips...obvious improvement in performance...no improvement in gas mileage. Large tires, heavy armor...mileage is bad.

My two cents: I have viper throttle body, superchips, exhaust, mopar cold air intake, 5.38s and its slow but ok. I do have a 4 door with 37s and rock hard everything ect. I'm thinking about doing the ripp header package with custom tune. I can't afford the SC. Mpg is crap, about 12 with an auto. Not much better on the freeway.

You have a lift, nice tires and wheels, heavy armor with awesome bumpers and recovery gear; but get crappy mileage and somewhat poor power.....

BUT you have a bada$$ Jeep and you know you love the looks from everyone as you drive it around.

People notice and as i have seen, they are jealous!

haha

I have a 1964 vw bug with a built turbo engine, i get about 4 mpg on 107 leaded fuel- lots of power but a pain in the ass to cruise and drive around in, but people are surprised and love it.

Makes it worth it....

After watching this video, here is my . All items done CAI, Exhaust and Body Spacer combined yielded the following results.
  • 7% increase in horsepower [Calculation: ((147-137)/137)*100] - Whoopy-do, hardly noticeable
  • 34% increase in torque [Calculation: ((208-155)/155)*100)]- ! That is definitely noticeable, if true.
With little or no improvements in fuel efficiency, spending $720 on these three components would never result in a real payoff. Getting a louder exhaust sound and a stronger jump of the start just isn't compelling enough for me. Now, if they provided a 34% improvement in gas mileage (from 16 mpg to 21 mpg), That would be a compelling reason to buy these.

They work fine together. I've had it for 5 months. Once I had a throttle light come on, on the freeway, restarted all ok since. Full throttle seems stronger.

If those torque numbers would be consistent from jeep to jeep, I'd say 720 dollars is a bargain. If i knew I can get an extra 50 ft lbs of torque for that much, i'd do it tomorrow. Passing power alone with be very noticeable and require less throttle.

Picture it this way: a stock wrangler owner decides on these mods and a gear swap. They go from the stock 3.21's like myself, to a 4.10 or higher and these mods at the same time. It'll feel like a completely different vehicle.
