Default Pick everyones brain...

About a month ago I purchased an 07 unlimited sahara loaded. I freakin love it and have dreamed about it forever. It was lifted on 35s and got an extended drive train warranty for 100,000 miles that covers motor, trans, tcase, axles, driveshafts and the 35s so I was happy. I asked the dealer where I bought it (jeep dealer) if they know if the previous owner had changed gears or anything like that, they said they honestly did not know and she said the only way they know is to crack em open and check. She said they could have changed them but not positive. My thoughts are they are 3.73 due to tow package.

My question is do you think I can get away with gearing it and saying I never changed anything if something happens? Hoping that if something does happen I can either take it to where I had the gears installed and fix it myself and the other "covered" things to the dealer.

Or to risky and just deal with it being a slug? Some friends are saying gear it and dont tell the dealer cause they already admitted they have no idea whats in there.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.....

Thats what im thinking, already got prices. Was told $1938 otd for either 4.88/5.13 and everything needed and a detroit trutrac posi for the rear. Thinkin about not puttin the posi in which will drop it about 575 ish and then dont having to worry about that at the dealer and it will be 98% daily driver. Just so many thoughts.....

I'll agree with cerof.. Do it and if you ever have problems, and THEY ASK... Tell them you had it regeared.. But if they dont ask? Well, I guess they should of asked!

Default I would

I normally try to be honest but most dealerships are not honest with you so why be honest with them.
Plus they get paid by warranty if they fix it.
It is not their going "bend over and pucker" rate but they get their money.

If it is an 07 and you are sure it has the tow package then you have 4.10's. That's the way they came from the factory in 07. Good luck on wich ever way you decide to handle the gear swap....

Yea I do understand honesty and I guess if they ask if I changed them I would have to be honest. But if they dont ask then oh well
