Default Plastidip wheels suggestions

Bought 4 cans today going to do it with the tires and wheels still on jeep. Any ideas on how to best do this? Also how bad is over spray or like the haze you get from spray cans? Reason I ask is my shops big 70x60 but I have 2 classic cars and don't want it to get on them. Also, can I just spray over the lugs?

I would recommend taking wheels off and doing them away from other cars. If that is not an option but up some plastic. I did the hood on my jeep outside on a calm day and found some over spray on the jeep. I taped everything off. The over spray came off easily with some liquid wax and elbow grease.
If you leave the lug nuts on, you risk peeling the plastidip off when you go to rotate tires. If you can't pull all the tires off at once, do them in pairs.

sweet, ya thats what I was thinking...... When doing 5 wheels, in your opinion, whats the drying time? Does it take something like 20 minutes to dry per coat? or longer?

I wonder if I can bang this out between 6 and midnight tonight and then leave it in the shop over night. for final drying If I do it that way, I will take the wheels off.

I initially did 4 coats with the wheels off and 3 more with them on. If I had to do it again I'd leave them on.

Clean them thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, tape over the lugs w blue tape, same with the valve stem. I also taped over the center cap and then exactokniffed around the circle for a clean line.
First 2 coats very thin then start going thicker. I made construction paper cutouts (think two half-donuts) and placed them behind the wheels while spraying and had no issues.

Wait about 20 minutes between coats, maybe slightly less if it's warm out (I waited 20 minutes in a ~50 degree garage). I also found no overspray on anything in my normal sized garage FWIW. Ventilate well though as this stuff is stronger than regular spray paint. I was high as a kite (hence needing to apply 2 more coats the next day!)

It's very forgiving so you don't really need to worry about runs etc that normally come from painting on a vertical surface. It seems to 'melt' in to itself leaving a smooth finish. I've had mine on for about 6 weeks through normal highway driving, trails and mud and hit them with a pressure washer 4 times so far with no peeling.

Good luck!

Did not affect driveability one bit. I took my wheels off and used index cards in the small slot between the tire and wheel, 2 cans did 5 wheels 4 coats each. Don't spray on too heavy nice full light coats. I recommend removing the wheels for sure if you want a perfect job and to get inside of the lug area as well, using tape will be shoddy and removing the tape will remove some of the plasti. I will update with pics in a few. I did this last weekend but havent loaded pics.

Got em done , 2 cans for 5 wheels! I'm nervous however, the 4 coats were finished at 6pm last night, at 9am today they were dry but felt kinda tacky I guess, did final touch ups at 9. Hope I can drive it 5 hours from now. The thing I worry about is I live on gravel.
