Default Please help, I`m a new jeeper

First of all, I have just bought a 2008 Rubicon 4 doors automatic. I need your advice as I want to add some upgrades as for my JK to look fabulous.

I want 20"x 10 KMC XD775 Rockstar Black with Nitto Mud Grappler, LT35x12.50R20. In order for these wheels and tires to fit on my ride, I`ve learned that I need a suspenssion lift. Do I need wheel spacers?

Which is the lowest lift necessary as I want everything to work out perfectly?
I was thinking of a 4" Suspension System by Pro Comp (2 Front coil springs; 2 Rear coil spacers; Rear track bar with eccentric adjuster; Billet aluminum bump stop extensions; Extended swaybar links; Extended brake line extensions; MX6 adjustable shocks). Will this suit me? What do I need to add extra?

For the bumpers I want to get Rugged Ridge Modular HD Front Bumper and Rugged Ridge Xtreme Heavy Duty Rear Bumper in Textured Black. Do I really need an aftermarket tire carrier? My spare will be a 35" just like the others.

I have to say that I`m going to place my order from Europe and I would like to get all the stuff I need at one time. Therefore please tell me everything I have to buy in order to adjust the wheels, tires and suspenssion. I don`t want to get them and then see that something is missing and waited for.

Thank you in advance.

First, welcome or bun venit. Secondly, I do recommend that you read the Modified FAQ section.

That will answer several questions. I don't know the weight of the spare but you are probably maxing out the load for the gate with the one you want. Personally I would also get the spare tire carrier as well.

If you plan to do a lot of wheeling, you may not be real pleased with the 20" wheels. I had 18's and just went down to 17" because the side walls were getting chewed up and tires cost a lot more once you get above 17". As for the lift, if you don't want to go too big, I would suggest a 2.5" BB, that will give you enough clearance for 35's and not cost nearly as much. Now if you want a more rugged lift, then go with a full suspension kit, but again, 4.5" may be more than you need if you're just running 35" tires. I'm not sure what the back spacing is on the wheels, so can;t really say if there will be any rubbing, but as long as they are about 4.5" then you should be fine.

welcome to the site.

20" wheels would definitely make your jeep look "fabulous"

it all depends on what it is your looking to do with your JK.. if your not taking it off roading, and just want it to look good, then Rough Country's 2.5" BB for $139 would fit the bill....

if you are looking to take it off road then a larger lift would be necessary to clear the 35"s without rubbing at full articulation...

35's may also warrant a re-gear to 5.13's and more than likely the OEM tire carrier is not sufficient for 35's...

I dont think the Ruged Ridge front standard ends fit with 35's, you will need to keep it as a stubby (not sure if that is what you were looking to do anyway)

EDIT: SCOUTER BEAT ME TO IT

My suggestion before you do any mods: Get the Jeep and take it off-road. Hey, maybe it's not your thing! Or maybe you learn that it is--you ARE buying a Jeep, after all. If it is, drop the 20 inch wheels idea. That will then refocus your questions, but you'll be better positioned to ask them.

When in Romania.....do as the Romanians do.....
20's are great for the street, not so hot for anything else.
Congrats on getting a Jeep, Now plan on spending all your time and money on it.
