I had the Granatelli mpg wires, too and did not notice any difference. I would save your $$$ and put it toward other mods. Also, do not forget that the lower resistance wires will put more of a stress on the coil than the oem wires would. FWIW

Scheduled for regear in a couple of weeks so until then, 91 tune really performs. once I get regear done, will go back to 87 and compare.
Thanks! Are these 12.5 mm wires?

They did give a smooth ride that 1st week.
If a wire is clamped very tight and most are. Simply use a a boot puller tool. I got mine at the local auto parts store for $8.00 and now use it on all my tune ups. Prevents a world of headache on what you went through. Mine is the Lisle 52990 Spark Plug Pliers and it will allow you to "properly" grip and pull the boot off the plug without breaking anything. A lot of people on the forum have also had the same problem with the stock wires and the boots and caps breaking on removal. But if you use the tool you will not have issues. Give the Grantelli wires a try again. Also always make sure you install the dielectric grease on the plug tips directly and squirt a little on the inside of the boot before you install it on the plug to prevent sticking.

From their webiste:
"8 mm wire is covered by a heat treated fiberglass sleeve that protects the wire up to 1400° F. The spiral wound core is radio suppression so there is no radio noise or computer interference. Unlike universal
plug wire sets, LiveWires do not require any assembly. All sets are custom fit and numbered at each end for the correct cylinder."

They are thicker than stock and look great - also come in various colors.
I bought the coil for better spark at wider gap. I don't think wires alone will provide any beneift with stock coil - give Performance a call.
Old wires were tough to pull, but a twist in both directions loosened them up and they came off easy
