popping noise
Sir/Maam
From us it could be one of two things; a loose connection (ie. control arm bolt or jam nut on a joint); maybe a sway bar link bolt is loose, Or possibly the rear upper control arm joints are out of phase so when you start and stop the upper arms are rocking so a joint housing could be contacting one of the mounting brackets. Those would be the items I would check concerning suspension components. But concidering you have taken the brakes apart there could be alot of things that are in the open at this point. Think back, was it this way when you first installed the kit or when you did the brakes? At what point did it become an issue? Hope this helps you back track and solve the problem. Have a good weekend.

Jeremy it's me Jonathan in SA, TX. It was there before the brakes were done. I made sure the control arms were the same left to right...My end links for the rear that you guys sent in my kit don't look like the ones shown with the kit on your website. they are the same as the fronts with out the quick disconnect part.. Could that be a problem? maybe they have too much play? Also, my rear upper control arms are always turned one way or the other...doesn't look like they are coming into contact with the mounts but maybe the hiem joint is hitting itself???
The people that cover this forum are usually Nate and Chris. Jeremy and Matt may cover for it once and a while.
From the sounds of it, it could be alot of things. Have you had any help trying to isolate it from a friend or possible and installation shop? It all depends on what kit you have as to what rear sway bar links you have! You can certainly email Matt and Jeremy if you would like with any questions.

Rockkrawler,
i have the 5.5 x factor mid arm kit, as i mentioned, the end links for the rear that were sent with my kit were the same as the fronts shown on the kit on your website. not the solid one that are shown on your website for the rears

I have this sound every now and again. Dont over look the simple things. Check your rear tracbar, and regrease the bushings. If there is no grease, the weight of loading, unloading makes a sound that can easily be mistaken for a metal clank. Easy way to pin point it, put your fingers on the bolt ends, and have a buddy jump in the back of the jeep a few times. Just a suggestion.

nope. not yet. I did make sure all was tight with the rear track bar, rear control arms and rear end links. still doing it, just not consistent. which is very puzzling????
