Default Powdercoated Bumper Rust?

So, I just ordered my new Smittybilt front bumper and it was shipped UPS Freight. When it arrived, the corner had blown through the box, and about a half inch and the end had been scraped to bare metal.

My question is: Is this a big deal?

I know I can prime and paint this small section and it will be cosmetically OK. I just wanted to know if it is worth fighting with UPSF over a replacement for a small section. Surely others have had a similar experience. Any tips on what you did would be vary appreciated!

I just touched mine up. It wont be you last touch up either. I didn't want to go thru all the hassle. I wanted the bumper on.

This happened with my Bestop shorty rock bumper. I called the vendor and they offered me a new one or keep the one that shipped and get a gift card. Well, I took the gift card and put the bumper on. One side is bent in just a little, but I'm probably the only one that knows.

If you do plan on keeping it, I know that Duplicolor Bedliner will dry very close to the Smittybilt finish. You won't even be able to tell there was a mark. I use it on all of my bumpers when they get dinged up or chipped on the trail or winching.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to help!

Thanks for the tip Zach! It seems like bedliner should be robust enough that I wouldn't have to worry about it for a while, so I'll go that route.

i did the same thin in my smitty bumpers. they had a ton of padding on them and some really dense carpet type foam on the edges but they still busted through the box. i just hit em up with some black mat finish paint and you cant even tell unless you know what you are lookin for and get real close.
