i know you have to be careful not to overload or tap into something that will hose big brother - aka the on board computer...

is there a write up for installing power in the rear of the jeep, what wires to tap, or not tap into? or does anyone sell a ac/dc wiring kit for the JK?

 

Kliby enterprises has a power outlet panel for the rear of the JK. You could probably fit an inverter behind it and put an AC plug on the panel:



If you use an DC to AC inverter, it should be hooked up directly to the battery with heavy gauge wires and a fuse.

Engine compartment acess hole -

 

installing a ProMariner inverter inside the rear tailgate, and mounting it so power can be accessed through the hole cut to get the inverter inside. using rubber weather stripping around the hole so there's no ruff edges - and then making a hinged lid to cover the hole when not in use?



then installing an auxillary DC power plug outside the vehicle



ProMariner Truepowers's are supposed to arrive to dealers next week - they are weather resistant and have a GFCI - which is good for wet conditions.

anyone see any issues with this project?
