I wouldnt do that much though, that is a ton of weight torquing the hinges IMO. I wouldnt hesitate tossing a fully loaded cooler on it though. Unless the support arms get bent somehow, I bet the tailgate hinges would fail before the table did.

Before anyone asks: It is HEAVY but My spare is going on a swingaway, so I am not concerned with overloading the gate.

I forgot to weigh it before i put it on, but Mel could probably chime in on that, he must know for shipping.
Well, I won't try sitting on one. Was kind of wondering just for what you mentioned. Basically, the stress on the tailgate hinges. Thanks for commenting on it!

can you do something to the tailgate to make it stronger. Or should you take the tire off the door and mount it on a tire carrier. I like it but think its way to much weight.

I don't know what you should do, but it just makes me feel better to move my spare. I have forgotten most of my Strength of Materials & Physics so I am just using residual brainspots and cant go into a lot of technical details, just using my gut.

I am not saying the stock hinges are week, it is just my own misgivings speaking, i have no proof they would fail. It's all in my head.

the table doesnt weigh as much as my spare, so removing the spare to a swingaway, actually lessens the weight on the door.

and I already am waiting on a rear bumper, so it wasnt an issue to me.

The complete table weight is 26 lbs, super heavy duty.

We do not recommend standing on the table, but the person standing on the table in the photo is 155 lbs.

This table is really sturdy.

Thanks for the feedback,
EVO...
