Default Preventing Mirror Dent?

Anyone know of a protective plate or other device to protect the cowling area from the dreaded mirror dent? I know I could just relocate the mirrors but is that the only solution out there? I could put some kind of heavy metal plate over the area but I would like it to look good also.

I haven't heard of anything for the area.. but, honestly.. relocating is probably your best bet. IMO.

Make sure the door doesn't fling open and hit it. One thing I thought of is if you open the door all the way slowly, mark where the door meets, drill a hole the same size as the two rubber hood round windshield bumpstops, get a couple of those and put in there. Might look kinda goofy though, but would work.

Yes, I have the straps. If you don't remove the doors it works great. If you take your doors off every chance you get you will forget just for a second and the door will swing forward ever so slowly. Then you will see a beautiful dent that just stays right in your view every time you walk by your Jeep.

I had thought of that idea as well. I think it would look bad enough to keep me from doing it though.
Good ideas .... keep em coming.

Park facing uphill if possible (like up your driveway) and then if your doors swing at all they will swing closed......Only thing I can think of.

I think of that cowl everytime I put my doors on or take them off. Once I unhook that strap, my hand does not let go of the door.

Get some lightweight diamond plate and make a cover for it. Might look okay, sort of like the corner guards
