Yea after hearing the horror stories on here, When taking them off the strap is the last thing I take off and dont take my hand off the door until it is off, and the first thing I do is hook the strap on when I put the doors back on....

ok so you are just doing it when you are taking the doors off, thats easy fix, just remember not to let the door swing when you take them off sheesh

seriously how could you not remember about it after reading all the posts on here about the DENTS

ok how about putting a garbage can there while you are taking door off so it cant swing open, it wont dent or scratch anything...but then again if you could remember to put the garbage can there you should remember to just not let it hit the cowl thingy when you unstrap

I'm sure now I will get my dents soon

Default Here an idea

.. what if you get some of those plstic protective gaurds that glass tables and stuff coem with and stick them on the spot of the dent. You know those little rubber things that have the sticky backing you can buy at ace hardware or walmart. They cant be more than a couple bucks. I have seen them in clear and black. I would think they would be enough of a shock absorber to prevent any denting. Now as fas as what it would look like I dunno. I dont think putting them on the mirror would work though.

Default hmm

as much as I like that idea it isnt as easy of a solution for some of us. Living in Chicago theres 2 small factors that makes me re-attach the doors after every day out in the sun; those being crime/vandalism and weather. If you dont think either can be that bad come out and visit around November and let me know then.

Ahhhh. So glad to know I'm not the only one who has done this. If asked, I was going to blame a hailstorm. Any good Jeeper would know I was lying though. Who cares. It'll be my story and I'd stick with it.

Now I have to find one of those paintless dent repair guys.

I do like the idea of diamond-plating it though. Great suggestion.
