so for all those that agree on the one drop theory, then explain this to me. why is it when someone getys a bad tank of gas from the store does the engine not hydrolock. there is water in it so according to you, i should hydrolock. here is another one, why can i suck water into the engine, shut it off, pull the plugs and manually crank over and shoot the water out of the spark plug holes. it should have hydrolocked. im just a little curious thats all.

My snorkel has a rotating intake that I can swivel to face the rear in heavy rain or playtime. The new skull intake shields even more rain and splashing while still maintaining superior airflow. The sidewall is the low point of the snorkel, allowing most of the water to evaporate before climbing to the high travel to the sealed airbox. Within the airbox hovers a large cylindrical K/N filter, 2-3" above the bottom of the airbox. Any excess water can pool here and drain without going into the filter. The filter I use is the same density as I use on my harleys, and those filters are completely exposed when driving in rainstorms without any engine damage, so it will stop the remaining rogue droplets from entering my engine.

well I am not one of those 1 dropist but It does not take much water at all... here are my answers to your questions...

bad gas is not just water in the gasoline
and even if thats ALL it was it goes through the injectors and is broken down into micro particles that are displaced throughout the entire cylinder or cylinders in some cases... is that bad for the engine YES is that going to blow a rod... no...

if water comes in through the air intake it is far more concintrated in form and this puts pressure in a single point causing stress that can cause metal components to blow to shit.

now one drop ?? ehh I dont know... what I do know is that 9 out of 10 times its going to be a hellaofalot more then one drop... and its going to do very bad things....

pulling plugs and blowing out the heads... yea it works if your lucky enough that the MAF sensor or other sensors say waohhhh fuck there is a ton of water comming in here and they kill the engine... you get lucky if the engine is cut before it forces and tries to compress the water.... if you get the timing down lucky and you do NOT try to start it again (cranking the engine with the water in there destroys shit then you can pull the plugs (this stops compression because the water has some where to go... so it spews out the top like your engine is puking up jack daniels....

doesnt mean you didnt do damage though... just means you can get the water out yourself...

hope that helps some..

the airbox has holes at the bottom to drain out water .. so basically unless its submerged entirely a little splash in won't do harm.

if you get a snorkel be aware its still not totally sealed so submarining will still get water in there.

I did seal my snorkel and airbox completely and have been through water that was almost half way up my windshield with no water in the airbox
