Pro Comp or Rough Country 2.5" Lift
Im looking at lift kits and came across the $250 rebate on the pro comp lifts. This makes the pro comp $254 at 4wd.com vs $329 for the Rough Country.
Here are the two lifts
2.5" Lift Kit with ES9000 Shocks by Pro Comp

2007-2010 4wd Jeep JK 2.5" Suspension w/ 2.2 Shocks

II would especially like to hear from people who currently have one of these lifts...I need to make a decision soon...rebate ends 12/31
Thanks

I have the Rough Country 2.5 ". You net about 3" newly installed but it settles quickly. It rides a bit rough compared to stock. Offroad it did great in my opinion, I had no troubles getting over the same obstacles TJs with 37's had.
I wouldn't change anything if I had to do it again.

I have a 2.5" pro comp lift. I like it so far, no issues, rides a little rough but better than I expected. I got it and flat flares, if I had it to do again I would of went with a smaller lift and still been able to fit 35s. But the pro comp does have a lifetime warranty ( same company owns it as owns 4 wheel parts) not sure about the other. I would say with the 250$ rebate, upgrade to the better shocks to smooth out the ride. Hope it helps
Have a wrangler jk 4 doors cdr, 2008.
I need your opinions from rough country 2,5" kit, coils springs and shocks.
I mounted this kit and my jeep now lifts six cms. aprox.
The front nose is higher than the rear (1,5 cm).
Is this normal? How can solved this?
Some thing else.
Is necesary to mount adjustable track bar (rear and front)
Thanks for you possible explaining.
Gabriel.

I'm trying to make this same decision, but hadn't see the Pro-Comp rebate. $250 for 2.5" is cheap! Almost makes me nervous. But with my budget that would pay for adj. track bar and leave a little money left over.
I was leaning towards Teraflex, but....

I have a 2.5" ProComp with the ES9000 shocks and have enjoyed it. On roads the first thing everyone says is that it runs a lot smoother then they thought it would. Off road it has done everything I expected it to but I have yet to put it in a bunch of rock crawling, just mud and some trails in Colorado. Honestly though, I'm not entirely sure that the Unlimited version wasn't put on my 2 door because it sure seems like more lift then just 2.5", maybe closer to 3.25" or 3.5". When it was first installed the steering was extremely flighty with lots of bump steer, but once I put some miles on it it has become a lot better. I still get a minimal amount of bump steer, but nothing that makes me nervous.

I'm in the market for my JK Unlimited as well. Im loveing the prices I'm seeing on these lifts, though I'm looking to maintain the ride on the road for safety and since it is my daily driver and I do several 16hr (one way) road trips durning the year to see family. I have the flat fenders but am waiting to install them once I lift it and go bigger on the tires.
Initially I was intending to go up 2-2.5" and bumping to 35" BF All terrains, till several people I was talking to said the Jeep became a total dog and I'd have to change gearing just to get up the mountains and it totally trashed their milage (as i mentioned road trips and daily driver). So now I'm looking at the 33's and the 2" lift. Anyone want to shoot me their opinion? I'm running a stock JK Unlimited Islander edition.
Has anyone installed 35's on stock Rubicon wheels and did you have turning clearance problems? Where you able to do it with a 2-2.5" lift also can I lift the jeep that far and maintain my stock shocks? And lastly am I better off selling what I have and changing wheels to something that is offset? I know lots of questions but I'm on a budget...
Thanks for any help.
