I tried to manually center it (thanks Project JK for the nice write-up). It looks centered to me! Kept tweaking a slight turn here and a slight turn there but the light stays on. Either they made this way to sensitive and you get +/- 0.0000000000001 cm off center allowed or the light is being caused by something else.

Finally found the fix for this annoying problem. I spent a bit of time getting the steering wheel straight but that did not seem to fix the problem. The fix is a bit more technical than I thought it would be. I started driving and for 10 minutes I yelled at the light. Finally around the 10 minute mark, the light must have given in because it shut off and has stayed off.

I I had known that all I had to do was yell at it, I would have done this a long time ago!

I am assuming the computer needed time to reset after I centered the steering wheel. Touchy little light!

Default just got the u0141 bomb

15k miles 09 brand new jk i got back in august

it came out of the dealership with the 32s, the red shocks, the danas, the skid plates... looks like a rubi but isnt

only mod so far is a new stereo head unit

never any serious off-roading (no bottom-outs, no pushing through/over anything, not even windshield mud yet now that i think of it)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

first got the icon that shows up when you press the "ESP OFF" button out of nowhere and it lasted for a second or two

2 days later (today) was idling in park and it came back, but with friends:
  • the tachometer started spazzing (my engine speed didn't change sound or feel so it wasnt mechanical spazzing)
  • the airbag warning light came on
  • the hot water temp light came on (the temp guage was in the middle.. 220?)
  • the esp bas light came on

after about 15 seconds of the light show, it calmed down and only the esp icon was lit up. i decided to turn it off and back on again, but when i tried, it didn't start and all i got was the same warnings PLUS:
  • a red lightning bolt
  • the check engine
  • "HOT OIL" in the odometer

there was no clicking of the ignition/starter, but the battery was surely fine (acc. lights, radio, door bell were all cheering)

so i opened the hood and let it hang out for about 10 minutes. it started up right away after that, but the esp icon, esp bas, check engine lights are all staying lit up

checked it with scanner to get the code and its text, but couldnt clear it.

ive been taking it to jeep dealership for all the bs tire rotation/oil change parties up till now and next scheduled maint is in 700 miles

The cause of those lights were due to a wheel sensor that went bad. Only 8000 miles on the clock.

I put my lift on last week and the ESP/BAS light came on. I straightened the steering wheel and the lights went out but I still get the "slipping" light when I make a sharp right, bumpy or at speed. I can feel it trying to correct me like I'm over steering or something, I need to keep tweeking it. It looks straight but must be off just a hair, anybody know which way I should adjust it if it only comes on when turning to the right?

What size rubber you running?

i had the same problem when i put the 35s on very sensitive. my fix was to put new front lower control arms on (terraflex) not a problem since. i think that after you add a lift and then 35s the stock arms are under a lot of stress

when i first lifted mine the esp would activate at the same place on the same off ramp everyday. after a few days it stopped. the off ramp was very sharp and a little bumpy . i am figuring the suspension was pretty tight for a few days. no problems since.

Running the stock 32's off of a Rubi, mine is an X. I had the wheels and tires on for a few months now with no troubles, never got it flashed for the bigger tires because it never gave me a problem.

Mine does it on the same turns going to work, sharp downhill and bumpy, if I go really slow the light doesn't come on. My suspension is still tight also but why does it only come on making right turns? I drive home on the same roads and it doesn't come on turning to the left on the same turns, but it does on differnt turns to the right. I'm guessing the steering wheel isn't perfectly straight, but it looks like it is.
