Default Problems with Superchips?

i got my superchips flashpaq in the mail today and did all the updates and then plugged it into my jeep to tune it up. i did the 91 octane tune and then went for a test drive. This was after i filled up with 91 octane. i really didnt notice any difference in the way my jeep performed. i have an airaid cai and tbs. other than that my jeep is bone stock. i wasnt expecting major changes in the performance but at least something noticable. the only thing i noticed that had changed was my throttle response. i also have a new knocking sound under the hood. any ideas on what that may be? it only sounds if i really get on it in 1st and 2nd. any ideas on if i did something wrong and thats why i havent seen any difference?

Might wanna try the 87 tune with the 91 in it. Also, did you program actual tire height( measure it yourself) and your gear ratio?

sounds like a fuel knock, or pinging. the timing is to far advanced for the fuel fixture.. you probly need to run 1 full tank of 93 before you go all the way. Also if you dont have exhaust, you need to. you gota let the engine breathe.. but yes i would try the 87 first.

just did the 87 tune. got rid of the knocking, but still nothing in my seat feels any different. didnt make any adjustments to gear ratio or tire size though bc its stock. do i really need to do that? exhaust will come soon. need to get the jeep in the air and some new rubber first. hha. hopefully in the next few months.

Mine knocked and pinged on the 87 tune with a full tank of 92 octane. IMHO ditch it before the flashpaq causes damage to your engine.
I know I piss people off by saying this. But this is how the flashpaq performed on my Jeep, and I was not happy with the service I recieved when I called SuperChips for help.

Yes, I would to make sure your getting the most outta what you have and the shift points are corresponding with what u have.

If you stock you are not going to notice a huge difference. If you are running 35's you will notice a huge difference.

So if you increase the timing and that gives you more horse power and may also give you detonation (pinging). How does the tire size affect this?

This biggest thing that I noticed was the throttle response. This alone made the Jeep feel much faster and more fun to drive. Then when on the interstate I noticed that hills I used to have to drop to 5th gear to pull i could maintain speed in 6th gear at 75 MPH. This coupled with the throttle response made me feel that the $330 was well worth it. My Jeep is a stock Rubicon with the 6 speed running 93 octane and tuned for 93 octane. I also have no issues with pinging at all. I've got about 3k miles on it since I tuned it.
