Problems with Superchips?
The tow tune requires 91 octane or higher. The only 87 tunes are the 87 Performance and the Milage XS tunes.
I've always just run the 87 tune on 87 octane.
Run a few tanks of fuel and as MK suggested, make sure your data is all inputed accurately
I have an auto and it certainly helps the throttle response big time. IT takes 2-3 tanks to settle in. Might be good to ease your way up through tunes - 87=2 tanks then 91=2 tanks? could help.
While on superchips. please go to their forum and encourage them to add DRL to the fog lights (like ProCal has). I started a thread there about it. see my Sig line for link.

your performance gets so bad with 35s, programming proper shift points by adjusting the speedometer and getting a few extra HP make s a huge difference with bigger tires
i got my superchips flashpaq in the mail today and did all the updates and then plugged it into my jeep to tune it up. i did the 91 octane tune and then went for a test drive. This was after i filled up with 91 octane. i really didnt notice any difference in the way my jeep performed. i have an airaid cai and tbs. other than that my jeep is bone stock. i wasnt expecting major changes in the performance but at least something noticable. the only thing i noticed that had changed was my throttle response. i also have a new knocking sound under the hood. any ideas on what that may be? it only sounds if i really get on it in 1st and 2nd. any ideas on if i did something wrong and thats why i havent seen any difference?
As others have suggested, dropping to the 87 is a good idea for the time being, and if your intent is to run the 91 tune in the future you might want to use 93 octane for the first tank. That will give the PCM relearn a chance to catch up, and then you should be cool to run 91 octane.
Also, each time you switch tunes, you are zeroing out the PCM and starting fresh. So it's not going to get you any further along getting things going with 91 octane fuel on the 87 tune setting. As soon as you go back to the 91 tune you are starting all over.
With the Airaid CAI it someone throws off the tables as the speed density system isn't totally dynamic. Meaning that there is likely more air entering the manifold than what the PCM believes there is. This is the reason for the knock or pre-ignition, but again the PCM will dial it out with use and key cycles.
I hope that helps and be patient as for some it takes a bit of times and others pretty much roll out of the box.
Lastly, if you don't notice the pinging subsiding over the weekend give Ron Rapp a call early Monday morning. They are open before 8am EST and if you hit him early you might have a file uploaded and returned same day.

WELL THEN I GUESS IM RUNNING THE 91 TOW TUNE AND RUNNING 87 FUEL.....OOPS
NOT PINGING OR ANYTHING BUT I GUESS I BETTER RUN THE HIGHER GRADE FUEL
