He already ordered an Unlimited Rubicon, and he has an additional $25,000 budget for modifications (). I know--it's a little hard to fathom. He'll have one amazing Jeep when he's done though.

With that budget, make sure you go with 37's.

I hope you don't mind some shameless self promotion...

- Evap can relocation kit
- Storage tub enlargment kit
- Steering stabilizer relocation kit
- Muffler relocation kit
- Hood shock kit

And I don't think anybody has mentioned:
- air intake
- grab handles front and rear
- mirror drill mod
- I think someone is comming out with a very cool tube fender solution. I'm not allowed to say who, but keep some money set aside for that. Should be out in a few months.

I have gone on quite a few trips with friends pulling adventure trailers and they are able to go virtually anywhere. I personally have a CDN M101 surplus trailer and have yet to be held back on any trails in SW CO or SE Utah. The Adventure Trailer takes the best design features of the military trailers and pairs them with an incredible suspension system that will comfortably handle high speed washboards roads as well as the rocks.

Woods stuff is top notch. Highly recommended.

Are you making tube fenders? Is anyone (really) coming out with them soon?

Yes, something like that. Since I definitely want a roof rack, and most roof rack manufacturers have to ship theirs and therefore make it in pieces that we connect together, I am thinking of manufacturing a roof cage locally. If I do that I figured, might as well extend it to an exocage and provide panel protection to the sides, and the hood, as well as a welded, strong foundation for a bolted roof rack. Another benefit is that i can pre-run all the lights wiring inside the frame. I would probably add some more cross members and another column between the doors, and some handles.

[QUOTE=Dante;438596]With those you get a true 4.5" lift at the axles and room for 37" tires with stock suspension. If it were me I would add a the Rubicon Express long arm kit with 2" coils and run 39" tires. Of course those larger tires will cost you. I figure about $2500 for 5 x wheels and tires.

Dude lets get realistic though, not out of hand, 39" tires are not even practical! Thats gotta be the dumbest idea yet. I dont think he was planning to build a friggin monster truck!

That green JK with the cage, the flares look good off of the jeep but up close the body lines left over, not so good. On this one I can't tell really where it steps down and where the flares where riveted in. Also, does anyone know how the wheel wells are still under there? because they where riveted into the stock flares. My flares are gone but so are my plastic wheels wells.

If I had a 25 grand budget I'd just got crazy...lol...start with that bad ass cage and go till you run out, thats what I'd do. That thing will be awesome and I wish I could do that but unfortantly a FireFighters pay is not more than that per year..lol.

No tube fenders from me. And I think so. Still a bit too gossipy to talk about.

You should move to California.. a starting firefighter gets 55k here...then after 6 months up to 75k. 15% on top of that if you are paramedic... = over 85k. A friends uncle has been a firefighter for around 7 years and makes over 100k a year.

On the original post. I would definitely look to regear with all that extra weight you will be carrying.

Get the LED lightbar I've seen somewhere around here...that alone is 1,500. one for the front and one for the back... = light up the night sky.
