the place that put mine on (37" Goodyear MTR Kevlar on stock rubi wheels) had mine aired to 44 psi cold. I think it was 44...yea...so I aired down to 26 cold. I figure that will run around 30-31 hot. Which is probably about perfect for the tire...

I have 35/12.50 mounted on my stock rubi wheels. I run 25psi on the street and 12psi off road. I have not had any issues in over 5k miles, they are wearing well too!

I decided to go with the Spidertrax 1.5" Wheel spacers, my stock wheels and 35X12.5 Pro Comp AT's

My question now is....

Will the tires go out to the end of my fenders? I Have the Bushwacker fenders and they are 2" bigger than the stock ones

I've done extensive research on this. I've also seen many a tire that was too wide for it's rim. The result is massive wear and quick wear on the middle of the tread. You'll probably lose 30% of the life of the fire by doing this and street traction will be severely diminished. When the tread is bald completely in the middle the sides of the tire should have about 30-40% of the tread left while the middle 8 inches (that's to say if you get a 12.5" tire) will be nearly at cords.

So back to your question. Can you? --- Yes.
Will you lose a lot of tire life and traction due to the bulge? -- Yes.

Totally up to you

I have 17x9 rims on order to hold my 35x12.50x17r sized tires. That way I don't have to do spacers or have a incorrect wear pattern. But that's me

I hope that helps you some

IMO, you can safely run most 12.5" tires on the JK stock rims with minimum tread wear problems as long as you are running at least 35" tires. The exception may be some of the Interco tires which have a relative wide foot print.

You might even be able to run a few selected 13.5" wide tires with relatively narrow footprint and flexible sidewalls like the KM2s, with some air pressure constraints but I think this is pushing the envelope too far if you drive at highway speeds for long distances.

I have learned a ton since I posted this thread..

I am now looking for wheel spacers larger than 1.50" something like 1.75" or even 2"

Does anything like this exist?

What I am trying to do here is have a wide stance with a narrow tire. A 2" spacer would give me what I want
