Default PS Bumper Question

I was looking at the Poison Spyder Rock Brawler bumper and in the description it says you can put a 35in tire of the tailgate with the base model Rock Brawler bumper. Has anyone had experience with this? I was wanting an actual tire carrier so I wouldn't warp my tailgate, but this would save me $800 if I could just do this safely.

I've got a friend who is running a 35 on his stock tailgate and has been since October. He's running that same rear bumper. Its not ideal but it can get you by until you do want to purchase a heavy duty tire carrier

By not ideal, you mean, could still warp the tailgate? I guess you could always buy one of the tire carriers that will fit any bumper and bolt it to the tailgate?

Its always possible. I believe his tire rests right on his PS bumper so theres not much stress since the bumper takes some of the weight. He is also planning to get a genright or EVO carrier soon.

You said most of the weight was on the actual bumper, can he still open his tailgate?
