Default PSC D-Ring fitment

Anyone else had problems fitting D rings on the PSC bumpers? I called them and they said the pin needs to be 7/8" or less. Thats what I got, a 7/8" pin, but the SOB only fit after beating it in with a hammer and working it around, essentially tearing off ALL the paint and primer from inside the mount.

Anyway, I'm sure it's b/c it was a cheap Pin and they made up for the cheaper metal by oversizing it a bit, or my paint with primer was too thick, which I can't change now, but its still thinner than powdercoat I'd think.

Question is, anyone else have PSC bumpers (mine are the orig. BFH if it matters) that have found a certain brand of D ring to fit better than the others?

--For reference I picked up one from 4 wheel parts, just a no-name to test fitment, it didn't work niether did either of the other ones I had, which are the same brand I'm sure as I got them from 4wheeps too

you can get d-rings that have 3/4" pins. i'm pretty sure that ARB d-rings are that.

I had considered that, and even looked at the ARB's, it was their strength rating that threw me off a bit, (10,000 lbs I believe)....I'm just wondering if this would be a safety issue while using a double line with a snatch block....or in other words I've just got a cheapo 8K winch, but couldnt that theoretically put a 16,000 lb load on the ring, or would it be half that?

I had the same problem with my BFH rear bumper. It wasn't the paint and primer that made it tight, I had to spend 20 minutes with a dremel sanding the holes in the shackle tabs bigger. You just reminded me that I never did repaint the hole, lol!

Yup haha sounds like something I'd do. I just really hate rust. I think I'm going to order 4 new 7/8" pin D rings from ARB or whoever and do the same thing, then mabe grind the inside of the holes if I need to, prime em and put some clear protective tape in there or some crap like that.

Same here, I have some from McMaster Carr that fit fine. Also, I have some from the ORW recovery pack and from the Recon winch bundle. Only the chrome one does not fit.

It seems that the ones that are zinc plated fit but the chrome ones do not make the cut. The zinc coated are a tight fit, but still go in. Mine is primered and painted as well.
