Default PSC Hydro Levels

I've been running PSC's Hydro Assist kit (the whole thing) for a couple months. I basically love this mod, but I've been noticing some lag at lower RPMs. (I know this is somewhat to be expected, but it seems worse than when it was first installed) I checked the resevoir level and it's about 2.5 to 3 inched below the top of the resevoir. Been looking all over to find what the fill level should be, but I can't find anything. Does anybody know how full the resevoir should be?

When the engine is running the level should be about an inch or so above the filter. You want to see somewhat of a swirl motion with the fluid in the reservoir, this indicates a good flow of fluid.

Eventually you’ll get used to it with the occasional upset when you want to turn fast in a parking lot.

+1. My work parking lot has a full right turn and immediate full left turn and that is about the only time I get ahead of mine. I think I'm just used to having that extra tick of patience.

Thanks guys. I added about an inch of fluid to the resevoir, and it's back to feeling how it did before. Still have some of that lag you guys are mentioning, but that's to be expected. The problem I was having was quite a bit more than the standard lag. Before I bought the system, I heard many horror stories about quality issues, fails, wrong parts. I can definitely say I'm very happy with the PSC system, and haven't had any real issues. One of my favorite mods to be sure!

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t have gone with a psc system. I’d rather go with Howe Performance out of Southern California. They know their stuff and will talk for days with you over the phone answering questions. They specialize in hydro steering for racing applications. I’m not sure if they would have slow speed steering lag but I’m sure they’re familiar with it and would have some info regarding it.

Also, OP, if your fluid was low then you may have air in your system. If that’s the case, expect a good burp from your reservoir and expect to need to top it off again.
