Q's about superchargers
Hi s/c owners, I have a few questions for you:
1) What is the most boost you'd *safely* squeeze from your supercharger? I know Hesco sells theirs at 5 psi, and I had a talk with a very informative chap from Avenger who mentioned theirs were at 4.5 to 5.5 psi, and that they had been told by Chrysler engineers they felt something up to 5.5 psi was safe. I'm not sure what the top boost for a RIPP s/c is (maybe a RIPP owner could chime in?). I remember reading once something about 8 psi, but I'm not sure if whether that was a testing setup or that's the default top boost.
2) Do you guys use boost gauges? What about a/f gauges?
3) If you also have a snorkel, have you had issues with the s/c pulling oil from the CCV when you spank the skinny pedal a lot? (I have
)
4) Is there anything sweeter sounding than the sound of them screaming at high rpms?

the rippmods Sc builds boost as rpm's get higher... at 5000+rpm boost is 8psi, centerfugal superchargers build boost as rpms increase.... it depeneds on how you drive... but yes i have seen 8psi many times.....
, i do use a boost guage and i skinny pedel alot!!!

All superchargers do... I didn't mean to imply differently.
You don't have any problems with 8 psi?
You don't have any problems with 8 psi?
Our supercharger will make 8psi nominal, pushing 2-5 lbs. of boost at lower RPM's (2k-4k), good for off-road trails, hill climbs, deep mud, rock climbing. and If a little extra is needed at 5000 rpm's you'll see 8psi
We have 50k+ miles on a shop rig. running 12psi.
a few clients are running a 10psi pulley no problems to report.
no maybe's or about's here...
