I have a metal to metal clanking from the front end when going over bumps. I was just under there looking and didn't see anything loose.

I have been battling this forever, checked everything and all looks ok. I even changed lifts and went LA and still the noise is there. Changed out swaybars, greased the steering shaft, new rod ends for my tracbar and still I cant seem to trace it

Hey All - I just got a 2011 Unlimited last Monday. A couple days ago I started hearing clanking in the front end... I think it's what the OP is hearing... it's been driving me crazy, and apparently also my GF as today she's like.. what the hell is that noise? Anyway - She got down in front of the jeep and I started rocking the Jeep side to side - GF yells out that she see's what up... I have a LOT of play in my stock sway bar links? I think that's what they are called.. I'll have to post a picture tomorrow.. or video ... Is play there common? I mean - it really moves a LOT - I could see over time where is would easily wear the metal away. This play is on both sides.

My tie rod and drag link clanck loud also. Especially going down our dirt driveway filled with potholes. The tie rod and drag link are in great shape and don't need replacement. I just live with the noise.

Have been working a lot so I haven't had a chance to get back on here but I did stop at the auto parts store the other day and bought one of those needle fittings for my grease gun. I was surprised at the amount of grease it took to fill up the rubber cups but it didn't do any good at all.
I'm beginning to think I'll just have to live with it for now but good grief this sounds bad. I was leaving work yesterday and our parking lot is in pretty bad shape. Some co workers were walking by as I drove past and they asked about all that clanking. .
If I knew for sure it was the tie rod or drag link I might be willing to upgrade to aftermarket parts unless they eventually get noisy also.

Damn, maybe some lines or hoses are clanking on something. Check your transmission lines if you have an auto, they get loose and clatter.

My Jeep had the exact same symptoms you describe. It seemed to be coming from the front driver side wheel. After a few trips to the dealer it turned out that the ABS bracket was missing a bolt. Fixed it right up.

Just started hearing that same clanking noise after wheeln saturday. I hear it when i hit a bump or accelerate from stop. I can push up and down on the front bumper and it sounds like its on the driver side. The only thing I noticed was an oily fluid on the shock mount and axle. Might of blown a shock. My shop told me about 8 months ago I need to replace my drag link and tie rod ends but that noise just started
