My guess is stainless steel ones will not crack the way the factory ones do and should last longer so that part is good but do they add much performance? I'm thinking about the JBA catforward headers
Another option here:

Flow Daddy Headers - Jeep '07-'11 3.8L V6 JK Wrangler

I would get high temp plugs as well.
Good luck!

I read somewhere that cast iron may be better for the JK as it carries heat from the block. Running headers could result in higher engine temps. Is that likely?

Yeah I've seen the flow daddy headers and they are about $100 less than JBA but can't find any reviews of them online, how are the flanges-will they hold up and what's the warranty?

I feel the exact same way, I know people that have gotten other things from rustys and were happy but I'd like to hear an unbiased opinion other than from the rustys tech-no offense. What can be done about the plug wires burning up?

I have heard the flow daddy headers run very hot and burn even high heat plug wires. This was a few years ago i heard this. I have used a lot of rustys stuff before and have never been let down hopefully they corrected the problem. Let's see if anyone chimes in with a update.
