Default Question about LOD bumper

I just installed my full-width LOD front bumper and have a question.

The fog lights are virtually in the direction of the tires and I can anticipate a lot of water and mud thrown over it as well as the bumper itself accumulating a fair amount of mud in that area.

How did you protect the lights? And is there anything we can attach there to prevent mud deposit there?

The original lights' position in the OEM bumper keeps them fairly protected so not sure they can take the beat.

Thanks!

I have the stubby and many of my jeep buddies have mid width. I don't know anyone with a full width. On everyone I have installed there has never been a issue with the light breaking or getting full of mud. I have cracked one of my covers..... did you get the skid?

After looking I know understand....... I guess just clean up there when you clean the jeep.

the wiring harness and plugs are weatherized and they can take the beating. you'll be fine with them as is and, as mentioned, just hose out the area from time to time.

Well yes clean the jeep. Its always a good idea to clean everything after a offroad trip. Help protect your investment. Less chance of mud and dirt to wear parts. I never leave mud on my jeep its clean the next day if not the same day. While your doing this just take extra care and clean this area.

Thanks! So, the lamps themselves are waterproof? That is, I can pressure-wash them from the back to remove mud or general cleanup?
That plastic adapter that holds the bulb seemed flimsy.

Mine is waterproof. I have also changed the bulb over to a HID no problems.

I've had full length LoD's since day 1 and have never had a problem with the fogs after wheeling, whether it be dirt, rock, mud or lake. A wash down (power wash) at the end of the day, paying particular attention to where mud would accumulate. I'm not one to pamper my Jeep, but it's taken care of mechanically.
