question on grade 8 bolt kits (experts who have added the bolt kit only )
I purchased the kit and a teraflex monster track bar the kit has two 14 mm bolts that would be loose fitting inside the new track bar bushings ! 9/16 fit the track bar bushings perfectly
I have not yet removed the exsisting bolts of my 2012 early built rubicon of nov, 11
is there away to tell wich bolt size was used before I remove them ?
and why would the kit give you two 14 mm sized bolts when they will be sloppy inside the track bar anyway ? wich is the main reason we are changing them , not to put the 14s back in so it will oval out the new track bar we install !
and when I remove my track bar bolts will the holes in the factory brackets need to be drilled out to 9/16 if the hole in the brackets are for 14mm yet the bushings on track bar are nicely fitted at 9/16 size bolts
it would seem counter productive to add 14mm bolts back to a new track bar, that's made to fit with no slop w/9/16 bolts (please explain )
im hoping my jeep has holes that are large enough for 9/16 bolts or it seems stupid to even do the install being just as ignorant as Chrysler on the issue of sloppy fit of bolts on the track bar . unless the factory track bars bushings were made to fit tightly with a 14mm and you were replacing the track bar with a factory replacement
also I purchaced the teraflex bracket gusset has anyone added this too while doing this ? part #

the 14mm is for the stock track bar, so if you do the bolt kit and keep the stock bar you have to use the 14mm, 9/16 wont fit the track bar hole but fits the bracket nicely!! I just did this on my '12 JKU with a Synergy Track Bar brace and pitman arm stabilizer kit.
so no matter what production the 11 or 12 may be , the factory bracket holes will take the 9/16 bolts with no drilling out ? its the oem track bar bushings that would only take the 14mm bolt ? that kida doset make sence either otherwise the stock track bar wouldnt be sloppy with the 14 mm as shown in most video
not that i care about the stock unit i want to know if my new track bar with the proper fitting 9/16s bolts will go into the factory bracket holes no matter what phase of production
if what you say here is true why would you touch the track bar bolts if your only going to put the same thing back in ? that still dosent correct the loose play between the brackets and the track bar lol (not that im going factory bar but saying (your buying a kit to fix it and they are giving those people who chose to stay factory the same bolts that wont fix it , only to fail again ! it would make more sence to give them a new track bar bushing thats 9/16 and not send the 14mm bolts at all
if someone is paying 45 dollars to take the slop out of the factory set up why would you send them the same set up? somthing isnt adding up correctly

Right, the factory track bar will only accept the 14mm bolt, but the factory bracket is 9/16. Crappy design by Jeep to say the least, your good, put in the new Track Bar and use the 9/16 bolt, you wont have any issues. Just be sure to torque to spec!!
but what im saying is why would these kits send 14mm bolts along with the kit ? i understand there are those that want to stay with stock tracbar but why would they purchace the kit at all unless they wanted 9 /16s for the other stuff like control arms maybe but they should know that in time the track bar will come loose again from having larger holes in the brackets than whats in the trackbar !,
why would anyone go that route ? to buy a kit and put same sized new bolts that the factory screwed up with back in when they could just leave the track bar alone or re use the orig , bolts ! seems the kit has extra parts were paying for because of someone who dosent get the problem in the first place
if they eliminated those two 14 mm bolts nuts and washers from the kit it would only cost 35 bucks
im just trying to understand the concept of it . (although ill use those bolts for somthing , its not the cost ,,lol
im not the only one who finds this a bit confusing ive seen other asking if they should drill out factory track bar to fit the 9/16 bolts lol
it would make better sence just to toss a 9/16 bushing in the kit for those who want to reuse the stock track bar then their problem would be fixed and ours too , and have two kits one kit having bushing ~ and one not included
but the factory track bar is flimsy anyway so why would one keep it ?
