I did the same thing. Just that white/clear packing foam the KC brackets came in. Cut it to fit the brackets and put it right behind. I havent noticed any problems.

i put a trojan on mine, then when people go "Hey! who's the dick with the bright lights??..."

...they arent so far off.












actually, i have the Mopar brackets, they came with a thin silicon/rubber type gasket. I was going to use inner tube until i found that in the bottom of the box.

Maybe that explains why Mopar is charging $95 for mounting brackets... the rubber gasket?

I picked up some of the foam seal that used for outdoor outlets. Found some at ACE that's trimable to fit whatever size. Works awesome and cost about $2

Black RTV.

Don't use foam, foam has air pockets. Which will become moisture pockets and rust.
