That's an outstanding locker (the Eaton you linked to) and is precisely the one I would have in my JK if they offered it for the Rubi 44 rear (ARB is my only choice beyond my factory e-locker).

I recommend calling Northridge. He's going to be about the best price you're going to find on a locker (or just about anything else).

If I install a Detroit automatic locker on my rear axle, will I feel any driving difference with either 2WD or 4WD mode when driving on the street?

You really have to look at which auto locker you get since some require a certain amount of wheel spin before locking.

My dads 4x4 dodge truck has a posi trac/detroit auto locker. His tires squeal going around every corner.

Maybe adding a selectable locker is a better way for me when doing the first step of the lockers upgrade.

how about just welding the rear and any lunch box locker up front... i have 15K on mine with no problems and it's unstoppable... i know the conventional wisdom is to spend thousands of dollars on "the best" and "you get what you pay for" but i didn't pay much and they work GREAT...
