Default A question for those with experience in situation

Here is my set up....

I have a 4dr with a 2 1/2 inch lift and 35's. My jeep is also regeared with 5.13's.

*I have the Superchip programmer and I the tire size programmed in along with the gear ratio.

Here is my question...

How accurate is the MPG calculator in the dash? Has anyone ever hand calculated after putting in the setting and seen how accurate it is? If so what were ur results

Mine is stock, and the reading on the dash is always between 1 and 2 mpg higher than what I get by calculating it.

I have a superchips as well, I find the dash Average MPG to be pretty accurate. Keep in mind it's an average, so if you're heavy on the skinny.... I manually calculate my mpg at every fill up and cross check it.

Average, yep, you could have driven a ton of city, stop and go, off road crawling, etc and showing a low reading, then you are driving down the interstate, and it is still low. It's an overall average, the best way is to hand calculate, because it is only an average of the time that it is tracking over the last reset.

Same here. Just checked mine by hand, and it was pretty close to what the dash said.

I haven't found the Flashpaq calibration to be all that accurate, as compared to the ProCal. Don't know that it is relavent to the mpg difference between paper and dash, but it will affect overall distance/mph/mpg numbers.
