The factory switches allow the front and rear to be controlled more-or-less independently. Pressing the bottom of the switch once locks the rear. Pressing it again locks the front. Pressing the bottom again unlocks the front. Pressing the top unlocks both. You just can't do the front on its own, but I can't imagine why you would.

Anyway, good luck with the install!

You can use a GM ECM temp sensor harness with some slight modifications for the harness plug in at the axle. Its not a perfect fit , but i used some silicone in the plug for retention along with some zip ties. I used my front ARB switch with a relay under the hood for controling the locker.
I cant get over the difference between ring gear/axle size of the D44 versus my blown to pieces D30!!

Got to ask as I plan my Spring Jeep work. What relay did you use and could you draw up a wiring diagram?

The harness # is a Pico-5615pt and the relay # is a Napa AR272. The relay has a wiring diagram printed on it as far hooking it up correctly.

Check with a car audio shop for a relay. I got mine with a plug/harness for $12.

Seems like the rubicon axles are the way to go! So it's 100% bolt on? Any alignment shops to deal with???

Strength-wise, how strong are they? Any problems with getting 35's???

Thanks for all the info. I talked to 4wd hardware today and ordered the factory wire harness and switches. They said that there are two seperate switches so I can control front and rear independently . This does not seem right but when I get the parts in I will let everyone know how it works.
