Default Questions on aluminum gauges and cutting

Hi everyone,
I want to put a tailgate organizer on the inside of my tailgate. (I know there is one they sell but it's $169)
I was looking at scattered hole aluminum. The thickest it comes is 14 gauge. I would attach this to my tailgate and have the ability to move tools around as I get more.
Would that be strong enough to hold my axe, flashlight and other hand tools?
How would I cut it down to size?

Thanks for any tips.

14 gauge should be stiff enough to hold tools. You can cut it with a jig saw or saw-z-all using an 18 TPI or 24 TPI blade.
