Default Questions re Rear Bumper design

So, I'm still searching for the right rear bumper/tire carrier, and have a couple of questions.

First, a general question, why don't more bumper manufacturers allow for integration of the OME tow hitch receiver?

Second, my jeep has the ome tow hitch and electrical hook-up. If I get a bumper that doesn't integrate the ome receiver, will I still be able to attach the electrical? Would it attach to the new bumper's receiver in the same way it's currently attached?

my guess to the first question is that they like to design the bumpers the way they want and worry about how the hitch works or just weld one on after the fact. For the second part, yes the factory wiring should work, you may just need a new bracket for it.

Indeed, I meant oem. Nothing slips by the people on this board, does it?

Yeah, Shrockworks' new bumper will be compatible with the OEM hitch too, but they aren't shipping for a while and they don't have the tire carrier yet.

How about the LoD rear w/Tire carrier? Does anyone have one on and how do they like them?
I have an LoD front with winch mount, love it.

As the Shrock rear bumper is DESIGNED to let you use the OEM hitch...it sounds like the correct choice...Shrock purposefully set out to keep the departure angle as high as possible, and that was one way to do it.

If your tires are not over ~ 35", you don't need another carrier yet anyway...the hatch carrier works, and you could mount the bumper w/o a wait.

If you upgrade your tire size so you need a new carrier, then order the shroock carrier set up at that point....and just add it to the rear bumper.
