Default quick connect for winch?

So ive been thinking about pouting a quick connect plug on my winch power wire. Id like knowing I could kill it quick in the case something was to happen with solenoid or anything. Anybody else have this?

Warn has these. You can also add a handle to these to reduce stress on the wires. We use to connect battery chargers to electric forklifts. Much cheaper on ebay but you know it works if warn sells them.

Those are the same plugs the use on power pallet jacks as well. Those should work just fine

I just used a screw style cut off. It takes 2 seconds to connect or disconnect.

My Tigerz11 came with an inline twist type isolator. Pretty much like a cylinder of two halves and a quarter turn from off to on. Haven't seen this type of isolator for sale separately though.

What can be used to quick disconnect the cables from the winch to the solenoid/control box if it's mounted under the hood?

I'm sure it would work, but the ones I have say on them "Not for interrupting current". Not sure why, unless there is a possibility of arcing.

Couple thoughts ... You might check my favorite place to buy electrical items (okay, it's only a few miles away from me),

spectrowireandcable.com/c/QuickConnect/QuickConnect.html

You might also consider a fuse located by the battery to provide better protection than pulling a plug. Problem that didn't blow the fuse? Pull the fuse ...

I bought 2 of the electric forklift charging plugs at our local Weise forklift store for around $10 each. I looked around after finding the other choices just seemed too expensive for a plastic plug-in. And these are identical to the expensive ones.

I have one on the front and back of my jeep, one on my jumper cables and one on my 10k lb winch for the rear. I'm about to add one to the front of my new truck too for jumper cables and possibly a winch in the future. I use the jumper cables a lot helping others and it's awesome not having to lift the hood, just plug up and go.
